Pro-life individuals have sponsored seven billboards in Alberta. The advertisements can be seen in Lethbridge, Vulcan, Milk River and Fort McLeod.
The goal of the billboard campaign is to educate residents about the legal situation concerning abortion in Canada.
The message on the billboards informs passersby that three countries offer no protection for pre-born children: North Korea, China and Canada.
Many Canadians are not aware that Canada has no law on abortion. In the absence of any legal restrictions, it is allowed during all nine months of pregnancy. An Angus Reid poll in 2009 found that 92% of Canadians were not aware of this situation.
