In a Washington Examiner article dated November 22, 2011, a woman describes the awakening she had when, after getting involved with a Planned Parenthood clinic in 1997 because she believed she would be helping women access safe and affordable health care, she came to realize that this was not what Planned Parenthood was about.
Catherine Anthony Adair realized that instead of providing care to pregnant women or other health services, she spent her time there convincing women to terminate their pregnancies. The emphasis was on abortions, and she says, “My supervisors constantly reminded me of our abortion-centered business model: abortions first, everything else came second. I began to recognize their emphasis on performing abortions each time a woman would express concern or have second thoughts about having an abortion. When I notified management though, they told me not to worry and encourage her decision to move ahead with the procedure.”
Planned Parenthood wants the public to think that abortions only make up 3% of their services, but in reality the abortion patients make up at least 12% of clients.
“They used my misunderstanding of what the organization stood for to encourage me to perform and assist in a practice that makes up 98% of Planned Parenthood’s services to pregnant women.” They were instructed not to give information about pre-natal development and not to refer to the child as  a  baby. Instead clinic workers were to refer to the baby as a clump of cells or contents of the uterus.
Catherine says that “Planned Parenthood’s mission is to pressure as many women into having an abortion as it can. Those in charge know that can’t be accomplished if they refer to the child as a baby.”
Catherine points out that “Planned Parenthood takes specific advantage of women who are too young or misinformed to know better than to trust them with their well-being. Those who know the truth have a duty to speak out.”
