Choose life for both of you.

Anunplanned pregnancy...stumbling block or stepping stone?

Think about it...
It is not a mistake that a child develops over a nine month period before coming to term. This is also your time to come to terms with your unique situation and to develop your plan.

Adopt the pace of nature...whose secret is patience.

Think about it...
A tiny acorn becomes a mighty oak tree but not overnight and only after weathering many storms. Diamonds are simply pieces of coal which have been under tremendous pressure for a very long time. With time and patience (and a lot of hard work on the part of the silkworm) the mulberry leaf becomes silk. When an oyster ingests a grain of sand, it immediately begins to secrete a substance which is meant to wash the sand out. Only if the oyster is unable to rid itself of the "unwanted presence"is the result a perfect pearl.

Abortion harms women...please don't do this to yourself!

Think about it...
An aborted woman becomes broken in a way that she has never been broken before. She's unable to face her loss. She merely endures it. Her heart and soul aren't present. She goes through the motions of life but she doesn't completely participate.

The most gentle way to empty a womb is to give birth.

Think about it...

The choice of life offers hope and an expanded sense of self.

Think about it...
All that this unborn child is trying to do is make it, just make it, just like you. Why is it called a baby when you want it, and something else when you don't?

But I'm the victim of incest!

Think about it...
The one who benefits the most from aborting a child conceived through incest is the one who's guilty of the crime because the evidence is destroyed. No one else knows. No one can intervene. You remain a victim of the incest. You and your baby become victims of abortion.

But I was raped!

Think about it...
We all have free will. Someone used theirs to hurt you. Now someone just as innocent as yourself is at your mercy. Will you use your free will to hurt or to help? The rapist tried to debase you. He only truly degrades you if you now stoop to his level and follow his example.
You have been violated and brutalized by another person. Abortion is an invasive and brutal procedure. How can subjecting yourself to more hurt help you to heal?

But I'll be abusive...it's all I know!

Think about it...
You learned to be abusive. You can learn good parenting skills. It is possible to break the cycle of abuse and replace it with a cycle of love. Abortion says ,"You're hopeless!...Better to kill the child now (the ultimate act of child abuse) than to work to nurture the mother you could be." The truth is you're both worth the time and the effort.

Impacted grief causes walking wounded. The truth will set you free!

Think about it...
Free to face the reality. Free to choose the better  way.

Think about it.

A Message From Ottawa Archbishop Marcel Gervais.

In the joy of seeing her newborn's face, a mother forgets the pain of her labour. Unfortunately, however, not all children are welcomed with open arms. The latest statistics show that there are over 100,000 abortions in Canada each year. This is both a scandal and a tragedy.

In Canada and in an increasing number of countries in the world, we begin by ruling God out of the picture and end up by ruling God out of our humanity. Since the beginning of human history, no century has been as bloody as this one. No century has seen such senseless killing of millions and millions.

In the western world, we pride ourselves on enjoying a period of peace and prosperity. However, there is a very real war going on around us. It is a war against the weak, the helpless, the unborn (especially with a mental or physical defect) the aged, the sick, the poor and all who stand in the way of our comfort or our pleasure

It is embarrassing to say that many pregnancies are ended because they are inconvenient or stand in the way of comfort. Every child's worth is valued in dollars and some are simply not seen as worth it.

One procedure is as horrible as the other and they are camouflaged as human rights, such as the right of women to choose and the right of women to have control over their bodies. Many men are only too happy to support these rights and be relieved of their responsibilities. Too few consider the right to life of the child.

We are so stuck on our comforts and conveniences that we are willing to sacrifice innocent human blood. We can deny that such a war is going on, we can be immune to it and all of us need to recognize our own duplicity.

What can be done? We have to remember that what is at issue is not just human life, but the supremacy of God. The unborn, the aged and the sick in all their helplessness reflect the transcendence of God. They become "an unassailable symbol of divinity." If we are pro-life, we are pro-God.

There are many initiatives that can strengthen our armies in this war, for we need to become strong in our convictions and bold in our actions. Finally, we must not forget to call on God to assist us and to give us the joy, faith and confidence we will need.

A Message from Gary R.Walsh, President be Evangelical Fellowship of Canada.

In Psalm 139, the Psalmist speaks of God's on the omniscience and makes an interesting case for our pre-natal existence. Here is a word about the creative work of God. "You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb". This is not a scientific account of fetal development, but it is an affirmation that the process of embryonic growth is a result of the creative work of the Almighty. This Psalm underlines the mystical possibility of communion between a person and the Creator God. This community continuous from the womb through adult life.

The abortion debate is fundamentally a moral and a theological debate. Our evaluation of the embryo in the mother's womb will largely determine our attitude to abortion.

Anyone who is nourished by Psalm 139 can hardly take lightly the significance of the fetus in relationship to the Creator. To imagine the fetus as a random collection of tissue runs counter to any sense of respect for the creative work God.

Let us pray earnestly for our country's leaders so that a new respect for the dignity and worth of every human being will be fostered across the Land. As people of faith, let us continue to call for adequate care and support for expectant mothers; protection for the lives of unborn children in law; and policies which insure the protection of the handicapped and the elderly.

The healing grace of Jesus Christ winds up the broken hearted and supports the week. He calls us Be treat every person with reverence, whether it be the unborn, the infant, the handicapped or the aged.
